Beauty In The Mirror: Estee Lauder New Pure Color Modern Mercury Collection

Hello everyone I thought I would brighten up the morning by sharing with you the new Estee Lauder Modern Mercury Collection for this Autumn. The new collection was created by the very talented Tom Pecheux, creative makeup director for Estee Lauder.

Tom Pecheux said-

“My inspiration for this collection comes from the creative reflections found in modern architecture, in the phenomenal modern buildings that are like pieces of art. The buildings never, ever look the same colour because they are reflecting what is around them. It is the same idea with this collection, you are wearing the same makeup, but you never end up looking the same way”

Feast your eyes ladies...

As you can see this is quite a collection, I like the fact there's a few different shades of lipsticks to pick from.
This is the beautiful model shot using items from the collection, I adore the red matte lips such an elegant classic look.

The beautiful eyeshadow duos are housed in a beautiful gold compact with a generous sized mirror inside, which is always welcomed. There are 3 eyeshadow duos in the collection and I was very fortunate to be able to try some of the collection. The eyeshadow duos are amazing quality and felt really pigmented and easy to work with. My favourite products are the stunning metallic liquid eyeliners, these are both equally elegant and stunning. I would definitely recommend you have a swatch of these at your local Estee Lauder counter so you can see the high pigmented pearlised finish. The lipsticks are both vibrant and soft in the collection whilst touching on the matte effect which I personally really like. If you're not a fan of matte lips then I still suggest you still take a look of the lip shades because you can always apply a gloss over the top to transform matte to gloss, that way you're still able to enjoy the lipstick shades. I must say the Pure Color Matte lipsticks have major staying power, I found the swatch on my hand took a little while to actually get off.

Beautiful collection don't you think? I really think the liquid eyeliners will be very popular, especially as they are limited edition. Sadly the velvet lipsticks are also limited edition, they have a stunning matte Nude lipstick which I think will sell out very quickly if not already! As you know I am a huge fan of nude lips.

I used both eyeshadow duos to create my own version of smokey metallic eyes, I used Graphite liquid liner to line the top lashes and finished off with edgy matte lips courtesy of Fuchsia Velvet.

I love the different hues and use of textures for this look, a mix of metallic, pearl and matte all really work well together. This would be a stunning evening look for a special event.
