I had high hopes for Clean Fix and sadly I was disappointed!
I have only tried one other Cleansing oil which was a DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (sample) and I had a very happy skincare experience with this.
So when I saw Nip + Fab had a cleansing oil I was an eager beaver to try it.
First off the product itself smells stunning I think it's down to the essential oils Neroli & Mandarin.
I followed the directions as advised on the back of the bottle.
Nip + Fab say:
Gently and thoroughly massage on dry skin, add a few drops of lukewarm water to emulsify then rinse with water. Use daily for super clean and ultra comfortable skin.
Well sadly this product did not agree with my skin! I was so disapointed on a number of levels, the product the packaging and the way my skin felt afterwards.
I did use this for 5 days and that was enough for my skin. The product felt fine when massaged into the skin and adding the water as suggested but it was the after effects it had on my skin. Once I patted my face dry my skin instantly felt tight and my cheeks looked dry and parched. I needed to apply moisturiser right away just so my face felt comfortable again, and again a short time after. It was almost as if my skin literally drank the first lot of moisturiser I applied and then needed a top up! I also noticed small spots appearing on my forehead underneath the skin after a day or two, now this could just be my skins reaction to a new product but thought I would mention it. After the 2nd and 3rd use my cheeks did begin to feel like sandpaper, as I was applying my face cream I could feel the dryness and uneven texture on my cheeks. It certainly cleans the face but for me it felt like it had stripped my skin of its natural oils. I wanted to give this more of a chance but it seriously was effecting my skin and I stopped using it. Has anyone else tried this?
The actual Pump mechanism is not good either! When I first used the pump I didn't notice it and then when I used it the following day I noticed an oily residue on the bottle and the Bathroom cabinet where the bottle was living. After further investigation I figured out that once the pump was dispensed some of the product would come back up and collect around where the pump and the screw lid on the bottle meet.. Sorry for poor explanation I'm not very good as you can tell. So here are some pics as they speak a 1000 words...
So what do you think then? I double checked everything was attached properly and screwed on tight enough.
I think this next photo really shows the amount of product which collects and sits around the plunger part.
I think this product would be great for an Oily skin, but if your skin is dry or sensitive then I would stay clear or beware! Funny because when you think of a cleansing 'OIL' you would associate this with moisture, richness, hydration but it worked the total opposite on my skin.
*Clean Fix retails at £9.99 for 120mls which is a very good price, you can find this in Harvey Nichols aswell as selected Boots stores and online.
There is one other facial oil which I want to try and that is L'Occitane Almond Apple cleansing Oil, if this doesnt make a difference then DHC Deep Cleansing Oil wins it for me :)
Thanks for stopping by :)
This product was sent to me by PR which in no way effects my opinion and is an honest review based on my personal experience.
Great review :)
