Sundays Scent- LOVESTRUCK by Vera Wang

I haven't posted about a fragrance for a little while now and thought it would be perfect timing to tell you what I've been using lately.

Lovestruck is Vera Wang's latest perfume which has been very popular thanks to the beautiful Leighton Meester. You can watch the Lovestruck commercial just below, doesn't Leighton look totally stunning in that fabulous dress! Vera Wang took her inspiration from a modern take on Romeo & Juliet, Leighton is waiting on a fire escape for her romeo to come and whisk her into his arms.

When I first glimpsed the bottle I did think of my Marc Jacobs Daisy which is renowned for it's Daisy topper lid. This is very similar and instead of daisies the head is a beautiful bouquet of flowers with organza ribbon and tulle.

This would certainly stand out on any ladies dressing table, I love the fact the bottle itself has been left to a simple clean cut shape and design giving the bouquet topper the full credit.

Everything I love about perfume is all together in this one fragrance, a blend of exotic fruits, soft delicate floral notes and a mix of warm woods.
♥ Top Notes ♥
Pink Guava, Angelica Flower, Mandarin

♥ Heart Notes ♥
Indian Jasmine Sambac, Tuberose buds, Blue Lotus Blossom

♥ Base Notes ♥
Sheer Musk, Precious Woods, Vanilla

Lovestruck is available online from Escentual.com and prices start at £35 for a 30ml/ £48 for a 50ml and then £62 for 100ml. Escentual.com currently have a Free Gift offer when you purchase any Lovestruck product you receive a FREE Tote Bag.

New MUA Pro Collection

Following on from my review of the New Heaven & Earth palette by MUA I was eager to try some more of their new Pro Collection which has recently been released.

The Trio Eyeshadows are lovely and pigmented, I couldn't believe these are only £2.50. I have Innocence but there's another 6 colour options. I love the look of Passion which is beautiful purple/indigo shades. These are quite powdery so I was very cautious when applying them on the eyes.

Next up is one of their new Mosaic Bronzers in Sunkissed Glow which I personally think is more like a blusher. I was a little unsure about the darker shade in the compact but thought because of the other tones this would be fine, all I can say is be very gentle and soft when applying this shade. A little tip when applying this, once you've swirled your brush over the powder use the lid of the compact and just swirl the brush around to disperse the powder evenly on your brush. Plus I found it gave a softer look which is more workable rather than swirling and applying straight away. Other than that a good pigmented product which is worth £2.50, I'm not sure this is a shade for the summer but probably more suited as an Autumn/Winter shade. Think berry and then you're on the right track!

The other product was their Extreme Volume Mascara which only costs £2!! So cheap and actually not that bad, it does need a little work and time but I was happy with the end result.

Here is my look I created using these items plus on the cheeks I did use Sue Moxley Baked bronzer in Miami on my cheek bones over the top of Sunkissed Glow.

I didn't mean to chop off my chin!

Have you tried anything from the New MUA Pro Collection?
What's your thoughts?
Can you recommend any other products from their collection to try?

Pumice King

Rough hands? Dry Cracked heels? Rough elbows? Well have you seen the Pumice King? Such a funny name don't you think? I have suffered from dry cracked heels since my 1st pregnancy and have had dry heels ever since. I swear by the Scholl Crack Heel Repair cream which is amazing stuff and give my heels a nice treatment every so often. I find that I need to keep on top of the dryness and roughness, I use a foot file normally which works wonders but thought this looked quirky and fun.

They come in various colours of course I got PINK.

You can use this dry or wet, I have tried both and found that using this dry works best on the heels but for removing stains then wet is best. I wouldn't say this is brilliant for removing or softening heels as well as my foot file but for a cheap alternative this is fine. Even if you don't use this for your dry/rough skin then this would be handy to have in your kitchen as a stain remover. This removes stubborn stains like grease, paint or dirt. I must admit I had a stain on my carpet and have been using it for household tasks rather than for my feet. I will be sticking to my foot file for my dry cracked heels.

Have you tried or seen this?

Nailene Ultra Tabs & Competition *Closed*

Hello to my lovely readers, I hope you are all well and enjoying this nice warm weather!
I have a quick review for you and then a competition, see I thought I saw your ears prick up then ha ha! I was very kindly asked if I would like to try Nailenes New Ultra Tabs which are an alternative to glue. Yes that that's right no glue needed to apply your false nails.

I found this really interesting to use because I have sensitive nails which have not be in very good condition until lately so I was a little dubious whether or not to use these. However as they claim on the pack these will not damage your natural nails I thought I would give them a chance. I have worn these and took them off so I could see how they left my nails underneath, luckily I can say my nails are just as they were before so no damage which is excellent news!
I am right handed so I had no problems applying them to my left hand however trying to do my right hand was a little tricky so you may need a helping hand. I have quite big nail beds and felt that the thumb tabs could've been a little bigger but otherwise they were fine.

Don't these look so pretty? I had to take the photos on my beautiful roses which my husband bought me for our 2 yr wedding anniversary! Nailene nails look so natural, these are the Short version which I happen to like as they are very manageable especially with little children to look after. Sadly mine did not least the 5 days, I am heavy handed anyway so I knew these would only least a few days but anyway the days they did last was still nice.

So would you like to win a pack of these lovely nails and a pack of their New Ultra Tabs?

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I'm sure you've all seen the NEW jumbo cans which Batiste have released, these are super big cans which are great! You may have also noticed they have re-packaged some of their cans with new designs which I like, it's like they've had a freshen up so to speak ha ha!
I wanted to try the Tropical scent because I had heard lots of good things about it, my close friend says this is her favourite scent by far. Sadly I did not feel the same, I still like the scent but for me BLUSH is amazing and is still my favoruite right next to BRIT. Tropical smells of coconuts and have a that tropical aroma which is lovely for this time of year.

Their Newest can  is the  XXL Volume which creates big and bouncy hair. I have loved using this and playing around, it really works which is always a bonus don't you think? Once in your hair it feels like hair spray I think, you can feel you have product in your hair so not sure you could go a few days using this without washing? I found that I had to wash my hair because it felt thick with product. HOWEVER the theory behind the product works this certainly creates big hair!

I love it have a bit of a lift at the crown of my head when I wear my hair in a pony , I sectioned my hair into 3 sections and the used the XXL Volume and massaged the product into the roots. You can feel the hair lifting whilst doing this. I then used a brush to softly neaten the top layer of hair being careful not to brush out the lift and then tied in a pony!

Have you tried the New XXL Volume?

Nailtiques & Update

I have been a little slack on my Nailtiques Formula 2 updates so big apologies guys, but have been very good and kept up with the treatment still.
I have noticed already that the peeling has stopped now my on left hand but on my right hand I still have some peeling which is nearly outgrown. I have noticed how my nails feel harder and don't feel thin or break as easily as they once did.

I took this photo 2 days ago so you can see the peeling as outgrown now which is a BIG thumbs up!

My poor hands take some bashing on a daily basis so I have to take extra care with my fingernails and find my cuticles get very dry quickly. Nailtiques have this fab Cuticle Care Oil which smells AMAZING!!!!!!! I love the roller ball end which is so easy and perfect for on the go. I try to use this morning and evening to keep my cuticles well nourished. This may seem a little pricey for a cuticle treatment but I've been useing this daily for a couple weeks now and have over 90% left still!

* £13.80*
I must admit I've been yearning for some colour on my nails so I've been using the Nailtiques coloured polishes which also have the superb proteins and nutrients which my nails need. So luckily you can have the best of both worlds!
CAIRO is a stunning creamy finish polish which is described as a Pink Chocolate hue, all I know is this shade is beautiful! The Nail Lacquer with Protein is a nice 10ml size so well worth the money considering this is also treating your nails!

*£10.95*
I fancied some red colour blocking so I used 2 red shades on alternate nails and then using my Orly Dotter tool and Orly White Instant Artist I dotted white tiny dots in a semi circle above my cuticles. Such an easy simple look yet so eye catching thanks to the vibrant reds!

MOSCOW is a classic red shade, similar to pillar box red in my opinion. I often think when deciding on a nail colour, if in doubt pick red! Red always catches your eye and stands out.
TOKYO is a deep red, when I applied this shade I thought of a blood red. I am reading the True Blood series at the moment and this reminded me of Vampires and blood. Sorry about that ha ha! So if you're a Vampire fan then you need this vampy red polish!

You can pick these polishes up from Look Fantastic I would say that the stock photos aren't as bright as the polishes are in real life so just bear that in mind.

Look fantastic also now stock the Orly Instant Artist polishes which is great news!!

Thanks for reading lovelies and hope you have a great day!

GOSH FOTD

I wanted to share with you a GOSH FOTD, I've been really impressed with GOSH after using their Shimmering Powders.

GOSH Bronzing Powder feels very similar to Clarins Mosaique bronzing compact, both are matte and great for all over the face and also contouring. The only difference I would say is Clarins is slightly warmer than the GOSH but otherwise both very similar when on I think. They give an instant natural pick me up which I love. So if you liked the Clarins Mosaique bronzing compact then pick this one up at snipet of the price! I use my e.l.f Stipple brush to apply this all- over the face adding extra colour to the temples and hair line and also on the hollows of my cheeks.

I wanted to take close ups of the blush & bronzing powder as these are my favourites, first off the cream blush is very vibrant as you can probably tell! However with some T.L.C and a very gently finger this gives your cheeks that instant pinched look which is lovely for the spring and summer. I just dotted this on the apples of my cheeks and gently blended out to avoid looking like Aunty Sally ha ha!

The blush is very similar to a cheek tint once applied, it creates a very natural flush of colour.

*Please don't take notice of my roots! I am so eager to dye my hair a nice caramel/chocolate brown but need to wait another week!*

♥ Swatch Time ♥

I found the eyeliner a little tricky to use but with extra practise I can start to master the liquid eyeliner look, what is your one technique that you can't seem to master? Mine has to be eyeliner for sure!!
GOSH is available from Superdrug and Superdrug.com

Glamoriser- Updated

Hello my honeysuckles! I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine here in the UK, it really makes a difference to your day when the sun is beaming ♥

I just wanted to quickly update my previous post about the Glamoriser, I have just used the styling tool as hair straighteners and can't believe how good they are. I took before and after snap shots so you can see for yourself how well they work plus bare in mind I have thick hair as well.

Natural dried hair

 Straightened Hair

So overall I'm very happy with the end finish, I probably had to go over a few bits a couple times but not enough to make my arms ache. I had the temperature at 190'C which is hot but found I could've had it a little hotter maybe so next time I will try the next temp up. I even curled up the ends of my hair at the front thanks to the shape of the barrel.

Glamoriser- Hair Styling Unlimited

Following on from my Hair Tool reviews I have another styling tool which I wanted to show you, meet the Glamoriser!

Well this is a very smart styling tool and does so much which I was completely surprised at!
  • Straightens hair
  • Create flicks thanks to the Tear-Dropped shape of the barrel
  • Create curls using the 'Straightening Iron Technique'
  • Lock the barrel together to create a wand and use either the wider part for loose curls or the thinner part for tighter curls
  • This is great for styling shorter hair and getting a curl or a lift with shorter hair
  • You can open the barrel and wrap your hair in a figure of eight way to create loose beachy waves.
  • Great for straightening and styling fringes!

These are super easy to use, simply slide the red switch for on/off and then using the -/+ button you can decide your chosen temperature. These heat up to 230'c which is very hot so be careful! Luckily they have added these super sweet funny fingertip protectors! To lock the barrel together there is another switch which is on the base of the barrel, simply slide the switch to lock or unlock. You do need to hold the barrel together for the lock to work.

This would be the one styling tool which you could take a way with you and would straighten your hair and curl your hair and style your hair. The only negative is this is a little on the pricey side, retailing at £79.99 however by the time you fork out for a pair of decent hair straighteners and then a curling wand you would pay way over this cost so maybe this is good value. How much would you pay for a curling wand and hair straighteners?

This is how I curled my hair once I locked the barrel together.
I love clipping my curls half up half down, cascading curls are so pretty!

I want to test this out as straighteners next so will keep you updated and will take before and after snap shots for you to feast your eyes on!

The Glamoriser is available from Sallys Express

Has anyone tried this amazing styling barrel?
