Sample Stash

Hands up who loves samples!! I know I do. Where do you find your freebie samples?
When I recieve a sample I save them away in a little makeup bag, well recently I had a nose through and found a few goodies and wanted to share with you.
I found this UK based website which has a list of free samples available, if you haven't already heard of it then check it out freebielist.com.

I got a free sample of Britney Spears Radiance perfume and also ordered some more beauty related samples.

I recieved a sample of Olays new moisturiser Total Effects Wake up wonder, I'm subscribed to their website and when new samples come up they email you to let you know.

Next up I ordered 2 Haircare samples from Mypure. They are from the A'kin range. These are free samples but you do need to pay £1.49 P&P
I'm going to use these this week and review them, however I do think its hard to make a judgement on a sample of this size after one use! Lets hope it makes a BIG difference after one wash.

A little while ago Tesco decided to set up their own Beauty page for Facebook/Twitter . I'm sure you've all heard and filled out the beauty questionnaire form to recieve a free product.
Well I received mine today and got a free mascara which I'm genuinely happy about! Will try it tomorrow.

Lastly I have 2 samples from L'Oreal which were in their summer free gift a little while ago. I got a sample of their Youth Code and their New Matte Morphose in Beige Naturel

What was your last sample of?

Thanks for stopping by :)

Sleek Makeup Shimmer Blushes

Calling all shimmer fans, brace yourselves as Sleek have launched 3 beautiful gold shimmer blushes.
There are 3 shades all stunning in their own way.
These are available online and in Superdrug as of today and cost a whooping £3.99...Did you just do a double take? Yep you read right only £3.99!!!
I personally think there's one strong front runner for myself and I expect for many others, Rose Gold is truly stunning! I wouldn't be suprised if this shade flies off the Sleek stands, so if you like the look of this then I suggest you head straight for your local Superdrug.

All 3 blushes contain flecks of gold shimmer in a very subtle way, the blushes themselves are highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. So I recommend to add a little on the cheeks at a time and then build up the colour to your own personal taste. The blushes emphaize your cheek bones whilst highlighting your face to create the natural dewy look everyone strives for. What I love about the blushes is the pigmentation in them. They can be worn very subtle if you blend a little on the cheeks for a natural day look or for a more intense dramatic look you can build up the shade on your cheeks and this can transform your day to night look using one shade!

Rose Gold- is described as a shimmer blush with pink undertones. I think this blush would look amazing on a bronzed sun kissed face however this will brighthen up any face in the upcoming winter months.

Sunrise-is described as shimmer blush with brown/red undertones. This blush is probably not a blush I would normally pick but seeings I won them I can't complain he he!
I decided I'm going to be brave and use this shade. This would give you an instant glow and flush to the cheeks.

Pomegranate- is described as a shimmer blush with burgundy undertones. This is a beautiful colour and I look forward to using this in the winter months.

Here are the swatches.....What do you think? Which is your favourite one?

First Light cosmetics Review

First Light Cosmetics is a brand which sells 100% mineral make-up. They also help support women from disadvantaged parts of the world. The products are beautifully packaged in the pouches which are produced by the women, you can read more info about this on their site.

I was sent some products to review which was brill, and they also let me pick what I wanted to review even better!!
I had a browse through their products and colours and it was hard to choose. However I decided on one product right away which was Eye Light this really appealed to me because my one bug bear is my dark circles.
I looked through the foundation shades and the one which I thought most suited my skin tone was Summer Meadow. Sadly I dont own a kabuki brush BUT I do now!!!!
The lovely people at First Light Cosmetics sent me their baby soft Kabuki brush and a sample size of the mineral foundation.

Ok now onto the swatches.. Here is Eye Light I can honestly say this is a must for any of you ladies out there who have dark circles! I am so excited and relived that their is such a product which truly lives up to its name! This really does lighten and brighten the eye area.

First Light say:
This soft, light emitting loose powder is spectacular for concealing puffiness, redness and dark circles while diminishing signs of fatigue. Works over the lids or on the sensitive under eye area to brighten and conceal. Perfect for late nights and early mornings!

See for yourself before and after photos.. so you know Im telling you the gospel truth. Ok heres with nothing on my dark circles... pretty scary arent they??

And Voi-la lighter and brighter under eyes! And a very happy lady.

See I told you so...

Onto the next 2 products Mineral foundation in Summer Meadow, this is described as a light-medium shade with cool pink undertones. This felt very easy to apply with the help of their super soft Kabuki brush made from goat hair. After using a powder brush with previous mineral foundations to finally have and use a Kabuki brush makes all the difference. So if your on the look out for a Kabuki brush i recommend this brush.

The foundation shade was good, I think this would be more wearable for myself in the summer, ha ha hence the name Summer Meadow.

First Light say:
Made from the finest crushed minerals, discover First Light's high quality natural foundation and you will never look back! This light veil of minerals will give your skin a fresh and radiant morning luminosity - all day long. The light reflecting powder sits weightlessly against your skin, giving you a natural “airbrushed” look, with great coverage that you can control. Our 100% mineral formula contains no preservatives, no talc and no chemicals.

The foundation felt light and covered my face well, I was able to build the colour up more in certain areas on the face but still looked natural and flawless. I strongly recommend to order a minium of two shades if your unsure.
First Light offer free postage on sampled sized mineral cosmetics and will deduct the price of up to 2 samples against the purchase of a full size jar!

Here are a couple pics of my face make-up wearing Summer meadow & Eye Light

Was going for a natural look and think I pulled it off. I also felt the foundation gave my skin that something extra like a warm glow.

Have you tried First Light Cosmetics? If not pop over to their site and have a look they also stock Mineral Blush/Mineral Bronzers/Mineral Eyeshadow/Lipsticks and Brushes.

I've already been eyeing up their mineral blush Kohilo and lipsticks Daybreak & Albaze.

What would you like to try?

Many Thanks for stopping by :)

Classic Fit + Nail collection.

I recieved my Avon order yesterday and it only consisited of 2 items which were both sale, but very happy with both. One was an Eyeshadow by Jillian Dempsey reduced to £3.50 so pretty! Will pop that in another post soon. The other was one of their Nailwear Pro Polishes reduced to £2.50 I was also really impressed with the size your getting 12ml!!

Meet Classic Fit, this is a new colour for me and I must admit I have been on the look out for a deep Navy colour and this delivers just that!

I have just put a new order in for one of their new lipsticks half price and also another Nail Pro Polish, this is a new colour I think 'Green with Envy' and also half price £3! I did want another 2 new shades- Golden Wine & Golden Twilight. Unfortunately with my sons birthday next week we are all spent out. BUT what I love about Avon is give it another couple of catalogues and they will no doubt have another offer on :) Happy days.

I then thought it would be a good time to show you my nail collection, this is a working progress and I must admit I am really getting into my polishes now and feel my hands look naked without a polish on. Even if its a nude colour or a rich dark colour, I enjoy having them painted.

I LOVE Nails Inc polishes, this box set was from a while back on QVC. I doubt you can buy any of these colours now, except for there Bestseller-Victoria. Also there are 2 of the Free Diet coke polishes which was back in the summer.

Names from L-R are as follows : South Molton St/ Fulham Rd/Parsons green/Maida Vale/Wimbledon Park. (All 10ml)

Again Names L-R as follows : St Tropez/Victoria & Albert/Belsize Park/Queens Park/Victoria

Do you have any Nails Inc polishes? Would love to know what colours you have? My 2 freebies were in the colours London and New York! I kick myself to this day that I didn't go back and stock up on London!! If anyone knows any dupes for it please tell me.

Here are some snaps of other brands in my collection.

Barry M polishes (10ml) £2.95 in Grey my all time favourite polish, and Red sorry this polish was part of a free gift ages ago which The News of the World Fabulous magazine organized.

Boots No7 polishes 10ml £6.75 Peach Glaze/Berrylicious/Beanie.
Berrylicious is really gloopy and stringy not a great formula, were as the other 2 are fine.

Jessica Nails a whooping 14.8ml prices start from £7 I recommend Candy Nails they stock a fab range of Jessica nails. Reward Basecoat/ My Fair Lady/ Walk of Fame/ Sweet Tooth.
I did have Top Priority top coat but I didnt screw the lid back on properly and it literally superglued the lid together :( opps!! that'll teach me!

Top 5 Polishes
Nails Inc London- Creamy Pink/Nude
Nails Inc Maida Vale- Stunning Bronze metallic
Barry M Grey- Creamy Grey
Boots No7 Beanie- Creamy chocolate
Jessica Nails Sweet Tooth- Creamy Pink/Plum

So there you go... I would love to know what's in your collection. What are your top 5??

Victoria Moore Massage Candle = Heaven!!

As I'm writing this post all I can smell is the beautiful fragrance which fills the room, Frankincense, Jasmine & Vanilla.

I won this amazing candle by Victoria Moore the other week courtesy of R8 Beauty, you had to Re-Tweet a message. If your not already following them on Twitter I strongly suggest you do ( http://twitter.com/r8beauty) and also you can LIKE their fan page here. They run weekly competitions and you have good chances of winning.

The packaging is beautiful, rich & stylish!

Ok onto the review, I was chuffed to bits to win this as I've never seen nor heard about a candle which melts down to reveal a massge oil!!!?? Genius

Victoria Candles say-

Soothing GM-free soya wax, containing natural, protective anti-oxidants vitamin E & A is blended with our indulgent, deeply moisturising fusion of avocado, apricot kernel, evening primrose and vitamin E bio-active oils. This nutrient rich Massage Candle will leave your skin feeling deliciously pampered and supple as its aromas calm and heal the senses for a deeply relaxing and sensual massage experience.

Watch the video it explains everything... if only we had smell-o-vision seriously this has made my house smell lovely especially my bedroom ;)

The candle lived up to its expectations, the smell was 10/10 and the massage oil was 10/10.
I let the candle burn for the time suggested (30/40mins) and enjoyed the candle filling the room with its heavenly scent. Then I carefully blew out the candle trying not to blow oil everywhere! And poured the oil into my hands, it was a litte warm but not hot.

Warning a little oil goes a longgggggg way.

My lovely hubby enjoyed the candle and gives it 10/10 he said he looks forward to seeing me light the candle as it means he gets a massage. Yeah right love no chance my turn next ha ha!!

Thanks for stopping by :) Are you new to Massage Candles?

Alien Invaders..

I got lucky again and won a competition on twitter last week which was being held by ERB Designs. I'm lucky at the moment I seem to be in the right place at the right time, anyway I won one of their Alien Invaders necklace.

They come in the colour choice of Green or Red, well of course I thought of Toy Story so had to pick the green.

Well here is the little fella.. actually hes not little hes quite big. I personally wouldn't have picked this I LOVE their Mini-Cameo set and would certainly wear this aswell as their Pink Ballerina & Cherry charm bracelets. Check out their website as they have a few other designs which are really fun and quirky.

The packaging was lovely I thought, the little butterfly printed organza bag was sweet and could be used again for another pressie.

ERB Designs have kindly set up a 15% off discount code, enter (sherrie) this is valid until next Friday (24th Sept) Thanks ERB designs x

Thanks for stopping by :)
